A friendly Dorset team that loves a good move
We’re Dorset Removals — a moving company rooted in this county and cheerful about covering all of it. We do the everyday well (house and business moves from Poole to Shaftesbury) and we plan the big adventures (the ones that carry on past the coast to France, Italy, Spain and Portugal). What ties it together is an attitude, not a slogan: a move should feel like the start of something good.
Why “bright and clear” is the whole point
Most moving-day horror stories share a root: a gap between what was promised and what turned up. A price that crept. A crew a person short for the stairs. A “we’ll sort it on the day” that never got sorted. We built this team to close that gap — which, funnily enough, makes the best part of what we do the least dramatic. We take a proper look. We write it down. We say the difficult thing early, with a smile.
Dorset is a brilliant place to work that way, because Dorset moves are rarely simple. Harbour streets in Poole, seafront parking in Weymouth, single-track lanes to a village near Beaminster, a conservation street in Christchurch — every job has a wrinkle, and pretending otherwise is how moves go wrong. We’d rather know the wrinkle and plan around it.
What we hold ourselves to
- 01
Look before we quote
A number for a move nobody has seen is a guess. We take a proper look, then write down what’s included so the quote holds.
- 02
Say the tricky bit early
The piano, the top-floor flat, the lane the lorry can’t take. We raise these when we quote, not on the morning of the move.
- 03
Draw the line where you like
Full pack or fragiles only, whole load or part-load, storage or straight through. You choose the scope; we price exactly that.
- 04
Carry the paperwork
On a move abroad, the customs side is ours to handle. You shouldn’t need to learn transit declarations to move house.
Local and international, one happy team
We don’t run a separate outfit for the moves abroad. The crew that carries a wardrobe down a Poole stair is the crew that protects and loads for a run to the Algarve — the international side simply adds a route plan and the customs paperwork. Keeping it one team is deliberate: the care a good local move depends on is exactly the care a two-thousand-mile move needs more of, not less.
Want to see how that plays out? Our services page lays out everything we do by where you’re headed, and the Dorset removals page gets into the county specifics. Or just tell us about your move and we’ll take it from there.
Let’s get you moving
Tell us where you’re starting and where you’re headed — a village down the lane or a coast across Europe. We read every message and reply by email with a friendly next step. No price lands before we understand the job.
